The Acupuncture train has arrived, destination Pain Free! Woot Woop

Most people have some knowledge of acupuncture, put simply acupuncture involves super fine needles being inserted through the skin and briefly left to do their thing. The numbers of needles vary as does the depth to which the needles are advanced. This is all dependent on our assessment of you and your complaint so is tricky to speak in general terms.

We use a western medical style of acupuncture that is well researched and has a pretty solid base of support throughout medicine as a whole. However, and there is always a however, a fair few of the traditional Chinese acupuncture points are very well researched and whilst we might not know why they work they seem to do the trick.

Acupuncture stimulates the nerves in the skin and muscle, this produces a variety of effects. We know that it increases the body’s release of natural painkillers in the pain pathways of both the spinal cord and the brain, this modifies the conversation your brain has with pain signals.

Through a load of research we know that acupuncture can be ace for muscle and joint pain as well as many other long standing or chronic pain conditions.

So if you have a nagging painful knee or get horrid tension-type headaches or anything in between come on down, grab a coffee and we can have a chat to get you squared away.
